Psychobilly Disney Villains at Anime North: Retro, Wicked, and Ready to Rock

At Anime North 2025, our group turned the parking garage into a punk rock runway with a bold, high-style mashup: Psychobilly Disney Villains!

Inspired by the edgy, retro-punk aesthetic of the psychobilly subculture, we reimagined iconic Disney villains with a twist of attitude, leather, and vintage flair. Think evil queens meet greaser gangs, with just the right amount of fishnets, studs, and sinister smirks.

What we loved most about this theme was how accessible it was. Some members created original outfits from scratch, while others pieced together incredible looks from items already in their closets. The result? A cohesive group with wildly different interpretations — each dripping in villain energy and totally unique.

From teased hair and bold makeup to customized jackets and punked-out accessories, everyone brought their own style and swagger to the shoot. And of course, huge thanks to Rotide Media for capturing the vibe perfectly with this dramatic, cinematic set of photos.

This cosplay concept reminded us why mashups are so magical: they give everyone space to play, create, and express themselves — no matter their skill level or budget. Whether you came to serve Maleficent realness or just wanted an excuse to wear pleather and red lipstick, you helped bring this wicked vision to life.
